I have begun to work on my new collection and using the knowledge i have gained about laser cutting from the The Talking Tower exhibition, i feel very excited to be designing a new collection with this laser cutting knowledge. I am taking my inspiration from Parisian windows and metal work…..I`ll keep you up to date as it unravels, but you will soon be able to buy online and the preview for this collection will be for Christmas at the Mill on the 25th November, but i`ll tell you more about that nearer the time too.
Peacock Necklace at ‘The Talking Tower’ Exhibition…
I promised to put photos of my exhibition at Turton Tower, which will end next sunday by the way. This peacock feather necklace is in on one of the bedrooms hanging from a beautiful mirror…I made this necklace by painstakingly breaking the strands from peacock feathers into the shapes i want and then they are individually glued into place. I haven`t used the eye of the peacock feather and i like that i have used the subtle parts of the feather and when it catches the light you can see its colours. The necklace looks fragile, but it is suprisingly strong.
It`s still talking…..
It`s Talking……
I have had a busy few weeks, but finally the exhibition is ready……i hope you`ll go and see it, but i have included a sneak preview of a piece on a window at the very top of the tower. The exhibition is on until the 31st October, so plenty of time to see it! The tower is set in such beautiful countryside try and go on a nice day. The tower is closed Mondays and Tuesdays, but open every other day.
