What an inspirational week! The boys in the tuesday group appeared quite dominant in the first session, but the girls definitely grew in confidence after this session and started to share their ideas more. The monday group flourished and really enjoyed inventing stories around their character…

New Ghosts…..So many possibilities..
I started New Ghosts project last week, so i`m working with two classes at Falinge School in Rochdale for Cartwheel Arts. I`m going to be working with the classes, so the children can produce their own artists book based around myths/legends in Rochdale.
My first two sessions went really well….my tuesday group were very enthusiastic and full to the brim with ideas….the monday group today were more cautious, so i think a completely different approach is needed. We looked at various book artists and discussed what an artist book is…..here are some of the artists we looked at…
In both groups i asked them to use their first letter of their first name to create a design that told a story about themselves….there were lots of brilliant ideas…..I thought we`d create an origami book of all our ideas and designs for our final book and this would be the perfect first page.

We only have two weeks left now, so we have started to look back and think about how much we`ll miss our friday mornings…one group member said,”Coming to this course has made me want to make more things and now i want to do everything!.”
It was our last chance to finish off our designs on friday so we were really busy trying to get everything ready….
We put our necklaces on chains/ cord and they looked amazing!…
For the next two weeks we decided to create an origami book of all our designs over the past ten weeks.
